A man with a long criminal history has been arrested and charged with an armed robbery at a Walgreens that led to the lockdown of three schools.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office arrested Brandon Brent Bowling, 41, at a residence on Meredith Street in Knoxville Tuesday morning.

Bowling is charged with aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated kidnapping. The kidnapping charge stems from the suspect threatening to kill the store manager as he made him walk to the front of the store with him.

Bowling fled on foot after getting narcotics from the pharmacy, located on Oak Ridge Highway.  Three nearby schools, Karns Elementary, Middle, and High Schools were put on lockdown while officers searched for the suspect.
