Halloween is just around the corner and the Knoxville Zoo has already started its celebration. "Boo at the Zoo" kicked off on Thursday evening.
It is a family event featuring Halloween music, games and costumed character throughout the zoo to entertain kids. It also has the only haunted carousel in East Tennessee the called, the "Scary-Go-Round."
Trick-or-treaters can fill their bags with goodies as they make their way through the zoo grounds. "This is a very very safe environment and it's not too scary. That's how we've specifically designed this event. It's made for smaller kids and meant to be a family tradition which we find a lot of folks do make it a part of their Halloween every year," said Assistant Director of Marketing for the Knoxville Zoo Tina Rolen.
The event runs through October 30th on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It will also be open on Sunday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 30th.
