Members of the Town Hall East had a special visitor at their meeting on Monday night. A grass routes movement called "Support our Schools" was invited to speak.
The group shared the importance of supporting Knox County Schools. Their efforts focus on showing elected officials that people do care about public schools and want to develop new ideas to fix problems in a efficient manner.
"We don't want to blindside any of our elected officials. We want them to be fully aware of what we're doing because what we're trying to do is be positive. We are not trying to be a negative force out there, we are trying to be positive for the betterment of our schools which we think makes for a better community and better Knox county," said Virginia Babb from "Support our Schools."
The organization will be holding a meeting on Tuesday afternoon at noon at the East Tennessee Historical Society on Gay Street and also at 6:00 p.m. in the West High School Library.
