The Anderson County Sheriff's Department has released more details in the murder of an elderly Claxton man.

In warrants, investigators say Samuel Adams was murdered sometime in December.  His body wasn't discovered until this week, when deputies began a missing person investigation.

Follis had told people that Adams was in a hospital when they asked where he was.

Records also show that Adams' nephew, Norman Follis, Jr, admitted to police that he strangled Adams.  Follis is charged with first degree murder and felony theft.

His girlfriend, Tammy Sue Chapman is charged with accessory after the fact and felony theft.

The warrants show that Chapman and Follis stole Adams' 1997 Mercury Marquis after his death, and sold it for $1000 dollars.

Chapman is also accused of taking a key from Adams' house and going into the home of Follis' parents.
