An assistant principal at Oliver Springs High School faces one charge of domestic assault.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said they arrested Donna Renee Moore.
According to deputies, Moore's husband called 911 around 11:00 p.m. Thursday night. The husband said he was being attacked by his wife at their Coalfield home.
When officers arrived, they saw abrasions on the husband's head.
Deputies said Donna Moore had already fled to her parent's house nearby. The assistant principal was questioned, then taken into custody.
The sheriff's office said they had no other choice than to arrest Moore, due to state law.
"They passed it to where if the spouse has any kind of marks that show signs of domestic assault, that we are to take the offender into custody," said Chief Deputy Steve Cochran.
Moore paid her $2,500 bond at the Morgan County Jail.
The Roane County School System is now looking into the charge. School officials said Moore is on administrative leave without pay.
