A Maryville man wanted for murder has been arrested trying to cross the border into Canada.
Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said the man is suspected in the death of Brian David Fann, 37, of Walland. His body was found at his home last Friday.
The suspect, Clinton Garrett Walton, 30, is being held on two warrants at the Wayne County Detention Facility in Detroit. The warrants issued are for auto theft and investigation for the homicide of Fann.
Walton was stopped by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and U.S. Border Patrol agents early Saturday morning as he attempted to cross the border.
A death investigation is underway Friday at a home on Blair Loop Road in Walland, according to the Blount Co. Sheriff's Office.
Dispatchers original responded to a call about an injured person, but found a deceased male upon arrival.
