Long-time 107.7FM WIVK operations manager Mike Hammond is no longer employed by station-owner Cumulus Media according to a report on the Country Aircheck website.
Hammond, who is also the chairman of the Knox County Commission, has been at the station for 38 years.
Hammond has led WIVK to countless awards and honors, including a humanitarian award from the Country Radio Broadcasters announced just last month.
He was also named Country Radio Seminar/Country Aircheck Operations Manager/Program Director of the Year for medium market stations.
Neither Hammond nor any Cumulus managers were immediately available for comment.
Cumulus purchased WIVK, as well as WOKI and WNML, from Citadel Broadcasting last year.
