A spokesman with the Knoxville Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian who was struck by a semi truck on Dutch Valley Drive Tuesday morning has died.
The victim was identified Tuesday afternoon as Tom Kerley, 46 and of Knoxville.
Police said Kerley, who was a worker at ASG - Ameri-Lam, was hit by a semi that was backing down the driveway of the business.
Investigators found Kerley lying in the driveway when they arrived on scene.
The truck driver was identified as 50-year-old Jimmy Spires of St. Matthews, South Carolina who is contracted through Cheetah Transport in Wisconsin.
Police said the the death appears to have been accidental.
