Cades Cove
is one of the most popular destinations in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Rightly so, because Cades Cove offers some of the best opportunities for
wildlife viewing and offers the widest variety of historic buildings of
anywhere in the national park. A self-guided tour booklet is also
available for purchase at the beginning of the 11-mile loop. Allow at
least two to fours hours to tour Cades Cove and longer if you walk. The
visitor center is open daily and located about half way around the
loop. Many people also choose to walk or bike the 11-mile loop, if this
seems like your cup of tea, go early on Saturday or Wednesday because
only bicycle and foot traffic are allowed on the loop until 10am!
