A man is facing charges after sheriff's deputies say he vandalized a McMinn County church.

Officials arrested Jeremy Gamble in Polk County Sunday. He's accused of breaking into the Double Springs Baptist Church.

The McMinn County Sheriff's Department says Gamble used pliers to smash the church window, then tried to kick his way into an equipment room.

The pastor found the damage just before services Sunday morning. He says the break-in shows crime can happen anywhere.

"Sometimes the need to get something overrules common sense. Whether it's a church or business or something else, people just aren't discriminating," said Shane Arnold.

The pastor says luckily nothing is missing from the church.

Gamble is now facing several charges including DUI, driving on a suspended license, and theft.
