Two days of wet weather led some area high schools to postpone their baseball teams' regional playoff games Monday.

Next week is the state's annual Spring Fling baseball tournament in Murfreesboro. Baseball and softball teams affiliated with Grace Christian Academy and Maryville High School were supposed to play regional games Monday to advance to that tournament.

However, wet conditions made things too dangerous for the schools' athletes to play.

Christian Academy of Knoxville did get to play its scheduled games Monday. The school broke out tarps in advance of the day's rain and used fans to dry the outfield.

"We want to avoid any standing water or muddy areas," said CAK Athletic Director Steve Denny.

Farragut High School got to play its scheduled game against Halls High School too. Rain changed plans for Halls last week during district playoffs, however. Halls was forced to play at an opponent's instead of their own during a home game because of poor conditions.

"You're not as secure and excited about it [a schedule change]," said Halls Parent Denise McNeil.

Official will reschedule Monday's cancelled games. Some teams could even play Tuesday if the weather holds.
