Update
Knoxville police have identified the victim of a single car crash as 61-year-old Gary Lynn Hancock of Knoxville.
Police say Hancock was driving a 1980 Jeep CJ7 when he left the roadway and struck a large tree. The driver was not properly restrained and suffered fatal injuries from the crash.

The Knoxville Police Department says a man died Friday night after he ran off the road and struck a tree.
That happened around 8:30 near the intersection of Parkdale Road and Rifle Ranger Road in Fountain City.
A police spokesman said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Police cannot release the victim's name at this time.
They say the dog that was in the car with him was fine.
