The murder trial for a man accused of opening fire at a Halloween party in Scott County will move forward.

Greg Potter is charged with one count of First Degree Murder, seven counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and 33 counts of Reckless Endangerment.

In May, he was found mentally incompetent to stand trial on those charges, however, that decision was reveresed this week.  According to the Scott County Clerk's Office, a therapist has determined that Potter should be able to go to trial.

Investigators say Potter was angry because a group of people had gathered for a party at an old chicken house on October 29. He showed up with a gun, and started shooting. Chris Marcum died of his injuries. Two other men were hit, and recovered.

Potter's next hearing is September 4.
