Three teenagers are now charged with the robbery of a south Knoxville store.
On Wednesday, investigators say the teens went in to the South Side Market on Maryville Pike, armed with a hammer and wearing bandanas over their face, to rob it. A store clerk pulled a gun, and shot one of the teens in the chest.
All three boys, two aged 15 and a 17-year-old, fled the store, but all three were in custody within 20 minutes.
One of the 15-year-olds was transported to UT Medical Center, where Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch says he is in stable condition.
The other two are in custody. All three teens are charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of burglary.
District Attorney General Randy Nichols says no decision has been made about any possible charges against the store clerk who shot the teen.
