The website lists available garages and lots for public partking

The Central Business Improvement District launched a new website and mobile app this week that will better explain available parking in Downtown Knoxville.

The site, ParkDowntownKnoxville.com, allows users to search for parking by neighborhood. It lists the numerous garages and parking lots that allow public parking downtown.

"We often hear that downtown parking is always a concern for folks in downtown, especially folks who aren't as familiar with downtown or parking," said CBID Director Michele Hummel

She hopes the technology will make parking easier for residents and visitors.

"It's also divided by people who are living downtown, people who work downtown, and those that want to come and play."

The program also lists how much a parking space will cost a driver. It does not allow drivers to pay for parking with their mobile device.

The mobile app is currently available for free for iPhone and Android users.
