Knoxville police are searching for a woman they say ran from a traffic stop Saturday morning.
It happened just after 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Buddy's BBQ on North Broadway, according to a release from the police department.
An officer made a traffic stop on a black Mitsubishi in the restaurant's parking lot, and after briefly speaking with the two women in the car and then returning to his cruiser, the female passenger ran from the scene and into a nearby wooded area.
Additional officers and resources, including a helicopter, responded to the scene to help in the search.
By mid-afternoon Saturday, officers not yet located the suspect.
She's been identified as 44-year-old Kristy McCoy Rogers, a white female weighing 175 pounds with short, nearly shaved blond hair.
Rogers has an outstanding violation of probation warrant on file with the bond denied.
A witness reported seeing the suspect possibly armed with a handgun.
