Wednesday the talk in Knoxville was about a cleaner and cheaper fuel for cars.
A Propane Roadshow took place Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Foundry near Downtown Knoxville.
The goal of the day is to show companies, and cities how propane can be a cheaper option for fleet vehicles.
The East Tennessee Clean Fuels group says the use of propane autogas can show up to a 30% fuel savings.
Jonathan Overly, Director of East Tennesee Clean Fuel, said, "There are a number of fleets who are just looking at it. So, the more fuel there is, the faster that return on investment is for them, so the quicker they can go, 'Wow, this makes literally cents for me."
Several local law enforcement agencies and companies came to the roadshow looking in to the possibility of changing their fleets from gas to propane.
Currently, Kingsport uses propane for their law enforcement vehicles. Some places have propane for around $2 a gallon. It costs about five to six thousand dollars to convert a car from gasoline to propane.
