Construction continues on "Sorority Village," located at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Neyland Drive
UT officials confirm that there are construction problems going on at the new Sorority Village.
They say one of the contractors on the project has defaulted on two houses: Alpha Omicron Pi and Phi Mu.
The contractor says they are unable to carry out the project due to what they call "financial difficulties."
UT is now working to find another contractor.
There will be a total of 13 sorority houses and one shared building at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Neyland Drive.
The first eight houses are planned to open this fall.
