Update: Motorcycle wreck victim identified

A man killed in an early morning motorcycle crash has been identified by Alcoa police as 25-year-old Nicholas Andrew Lovoy of Maryville.

Sgt. Hank Morris says the motorcycle slid into a tractor-trailer while the truck was attempting a u-turn.

Lovoy was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.

Alcoa police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a commercial vehicle.

Police dispatchers report the call came in at 5:55 a.m. It happened near the intersection of Hall Rd. and Alcoa Hwy. According to our crew on the scene, the motorcycle collided with a tractor trailer.

Dispatchers also report one person was transported to a hospital after that crash. As of 8:00 a.m. one lane was blocked while emergency workers are on the scene.
