Nearly 200 students crossed the stage at South College's graduation ceremony Saturday, but one was recognized for his accomplishments outside of the academic field.
Rhett Rousseau served as a combat medic and earned a Bronze Star for his combat experience. Now, he has another honor to add to his list.
Rousseau finished as the top science student in his graduating class.
The medic says he's not finished with his education yet.
"I've got a few different avenues I could pursue," said Rousseau. "I'm really thinking about orthopedics. That's what I've always wanted to do. I was a medic in the Army so this was just kind of a continuation of what I've wanted to do for a long time."
Rousseau plans to begin that journey by studying to be a Physician's assistant in the fall.
