Pair indicted for killing Cocke Co. couple & child, then setting fire

A man and woman from Cocke County are now charged with the murder of a couple and their two-year-old son.

According to District Attorney General James Dunn, a Cocke County grand jury indicted Adam Edwards and Marsha Shelton on three counts of first-degree murder, three counts of felony murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated child abuse, aggravated arson, and theft of property.

The couple have been in custody on violation of probation charges since shorty after the bodies of Sherman Ellison, 34, and Terri Henderson, 39, and their son, Riley, 2, were discovered in the remains of their burned-out mobile home.  That fire happened on  May 26 in the Grassy Forks community of Cocke County.
