Crews work to upright UPS truck following accident on I-40E. 6/20/12
Drivers heading east on I-40 experienced major delays when an accident involving a tractor trailer and a pickup at mile marker 368 on I-40E shut down all eastbound lanes of the interstate for several hours Wednesday morning.
THP troopers say a UPS tractor trailer rear-ended a pickup pulling a camper after the pickup slowed its speed to 50 mph around 3:30 a.m. This was at the 40/75 split.
The camper was tossed all the way to the shoulder of I-75.
No one was injured.
The ramp to I-75S was also closed for a time so crews could flip the tractor trailer upright.
All lanes were open around 6:30 a.m.
