A new Sevier County attraction has indefinitely postponed its plans to take flight at the end of the month.

In a 10 News investigation last week, we reported that several East Tennessee industries are being affected by a world-wide helium shortage.

A new balloon ride on the Wonderworks property in Pigeon Forge is one of those.

The owners of the Wonders of Flight attraction have determined they are unable to get the amount of helium they need to fill up the balloon and make it operational in time for the June 30 grand opening.

Owner Robin Turner previously told us that not being able to open the $2 million project will mean millions in lost revenue and growth for Sevier County.

Turner's team will continue to search for helium overseas while the balloon is grounded.
