Over 3,000 marijuana plants have been eradicated from Cocke County.

The Cocke County Sheriff's Office worked with the Governor's Taskforce for Marijuana Eradication to remove and destroy 3,686 plants, which they estimate would have been valued at nearly $3 million once the plants had matured.

The plants were eradicated between June 18 and June 21.

The sheriff's office says marijuana eradication is difficult, and requires hiking, aviation support, and ability to tolerate heat.
