ALAMO, Tenn. (AP) -- A Crockett County High School history teacher and assistant coach is charged with sex counts after deputies caught him running from a girl's home.
The Jackson Sun reported 29-year-old Perry Reeves was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts each of statutory rape by an authority figure, aggravated statutory rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Sheriff's officers said deputies arrested Reeves near the home of the 15-year-old girl after her boyfriend called to report sexual contact between the teacher and the girl. Responding deputies said Reeves ran out a back door and tried to get away through a cornfield.
He was released from jail on bond Thursday and could not be contacted for comment. Crockett County public school officials suspended Reeves following his arrest.
