The Greene County Sheriff's Department has released video of an armed robbery that happened Thursday night, in hopes that the public can help them identify the thieves.
According to Greene County Sheriff Steve Burns, the robbery happened just after 10:00 pm at the the Stop and Go Market at 6910 East Andrew Johnson Highway in the Chuckey Community.
The suspects, a man and a woman, were both armed with handguns and demanded cash. In the video, you can see the clerk emptying the cash register at gunpoint. At one point, even though the clerk does as he is asked, the male suspect fired a shot in the direction of the clerk, but didn't hit him. The male suspect also hit the store clerk in the head with the barrel of a handgun.
Investigators believe the robbery suspects fled the scene in a dark colored full size pickup truck.
