A Georgia man was struck and killed while walking on a Blount County highway.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday on Highway 73 near Potleg Hill Road in Townsend, according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Jerry N. Brown, 72, of Adairsville, Ga., was walking along the eastbound side of Highway 73 when he crossed that lane into the westbound lane.
A Mercury sedan, driven by 19-year-old Evan Myers, of Townsend, traveling westbound, struck Brown.
Brown was flown to UT Medical Center, where he died on Friday.
No citations or charges have been issued.
