Paramedics at the Rockin' the Docks event treated about a half dozen people for heat related issues Saturday.

Fire Chief Phil Terry says one person was transported to the hospital because of the heat.

A parachuter from the night's event also needed to be transported for medical care after Terry says he came in too quickly and broke his ankle.

They are all expected to recover.

Record temperatures may have kept the crowds away early in the day, but as the event picked up organizers took extra precautions to keep people cool.

Lenoir City Parks and Recreation Director Steve Harrelson says the fire department brought several misting fans.

Lenoir City Ford also had several trucks on hand that Harrelson says people could sit in to cool off.

Paramedics also brought a specially fitted ambulance that allows the air conditioner to run when the vehicle is turned off.
