The heat forced organizers to cancel the East Tennessee Summer Festival early, Sunday.

After a church service Sunday morning, vendors and organizers packed up their gear.

THe festival was supposed to end with a reenactment of the Battle fo Mossy Creek, complete with calvary, cannons, and muskets.

Instead there was, nothing.

"We've come to weather the heat which kind of got the best of everybody," said vendor, Lynn Mink. "Unfortunately they had to cancel for today because of safety factors, not only for the guys with the wool but also for the horses and the cavalry. It was too dangerous."

Vendors sprayed each other with water to keep cool today while they were packing up.
