Grace Baptist Church held their annual Independence Day cookout Sunday, despite the heat.
The event included food and festivities for children and wrapped up with a fireworks display.
Each year thousands of people come out for the event.
This year the church had to take extra precautions to keep everyone safe in the heat.
"We've been concerned," said Pastor of Programming Rob Hammond. "We've taken some precautions, we've added some water slides for the kids, we've added some cool down tents for adults and children who ever may need to use that and you know that has been a concern."
