Investigators have now identified a young, special needs woman who showed up at a Campbell County bar last month.
According to Assistant Chief Stephanie Smith, the woman is Lynn Cameron, 19, of Algonquin, Illinois, which is located outside Chicago. Smith says Cameron's mother apparently dropped the girl off because she felt she was unable to care for her daughter any more. She initially told police she was sending her daughter to a residential facility.
Cameron was unable to communicate her name or where she came from to authorities when she showed up at the Big Orange Bar on June 28. Smith said Cameron has been receiving "excellent care" at an undisclosed facility where she was taken while they were working to identify her.
Caryville Police Department investigators are working with the District Attorney General's Office to see if any charges should be placed against Cameron's mother.

(July 2, 2012) The Caryville Police Department is hoping someone can identify a young woman who showed up at a local bar Thursday night.
According to a press release, the woman, who appears to be between 15 and 21 years old and is "severely limited mentally" walked into the Big Orange Bar on John McGhee Boulevard on Thursday night. She had no purse, bags, identification, or any other belongings, and has been unable to tell anyone her name or how she got there.
Investigators say she was not injured in anyway, and is safe now, but they would like to reunite her with her family.
