A man is in critical condition after investigators say he rented a gun and then shot himself in the face inside a West Knox County shooting range.
It happened a little before 3 p.m. Monday at Coal Creek Armory on Dutchtown Road.
Deputies say a 27-year-old man went into the armory and rented a gun. He then went inside the range and shot himself.
Paramedics took him to UT Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
No one else was involved in the incident.
