KPD looking for South Knox murder suspect

Knoxville Police are looking for a man wanted for first degree murder.

Christopher Melton, 19, was found shot on Hialeah Drive in South Knoxville on July 3.

On Friday, KPD issued an arrest warrant for the arrest of Jamar Laquinn Frazier.  He will be charged with first degree murder in Melton's death.

Frazier, 25, is 5'7" talls, weighs 165 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.  His last known address was on Lilac Avenue in Knoxville.  KPD says he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Woman charged in fatal shooting

Knoxville Police have charged one person in connection with  the shooting death of 19-year-old Christopher Melton.

Investigators charged Jessica Renee Foust, 23, with one count of Accessory After the Fact. 

Foust admitted to driving the suspect away from the shooting scene so he could flee the area.

Victim identified

 

The victim of a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 19-year-old Christopher Melton of Knoxville.

Police are continuing to investigate the shooting, and no suspects or motives have been named at this time.

 

 

Fatal shooting investigation

Investigators with the Knoxville Police Department are on the scene of a fatal shooting in South Knoxville Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were sent to the area around 3:45 p.m., after several people reported hearing gun shots.  They found the body of a man in a wooded area next to an apartment complex at the end of Hialeah Dr. and Smelser Ave.  The victim has not been identified.

KPD did pull over a suspect vehicle and detained three people for questioning.  The vehicle is being searched for evidence.
