Any person eight years old or older with a Blount County library card may enter the contest made possible by the Blount County Friends of the Library.
Edible Book contest entrees are scupltures created from food that exemplify some fiction or nonfiction item in the permanent collection at the Blount County Public Library.
Entry forms and rules for the free contest are available at the Blount County Public Library and on the library's website: www.blountlibrary.org
Completed entry forms must be received at the Blount County Public Library by Tuesday, July 17. Edible book entries should be brought to the library between 3:00 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 19.
The contest is July 19 through 22.
Each food creation must be at least 95% edible. In this case, edible means made of food or foodstuffs. It can be no larger than 18x24x24 inches. The creation will be without refrigeration and on display three to four days so it must not be made of extremely perishable ingredients.
