Mama's Blue Dress with Occidental Gypsy will perform on the WDVX Blue Plate Special. The free broadcast begins at noon at the Knoxville Visitor Center.
The Knoxville Museum of Art continues its "Alive After Five" series with The Mumbles. General admission is $8. Food will be provided by Viet Grill. "Alive After Five" runs from 6 to 8:30 pm.
The Tennessee Smokies play host to the Jacksonville Suns at Smokies Park. It's another "Fireworks Friday" in Kodak. It's also ALS Association Night. Come on out to the park and help the Smokies support the fight to find a cure for ALS. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15.

Join Ijams Nature Center for a "Sunrise Walk" along the river. Sunrisers will stroll along the Tennessee River, looking for Barred Owls, Great Blue Herons and summer wildflowers. The Market Square Farmers' Market opens at 9 am. Grab some cash and bring some friends down to support your local farmers and artisans.
Join River Sports Outfitters at the Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center for a SUP paddle (standup paddleboard) on the Tennessee River. Knoxville Zoo says thanks to service men and women on Independence Day weekend. Active service personnel eligible for free admission include active duty military and National Guard, as well as police, fire and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics. All service veterans will also receive free admission. Service men and women and veterans must provide appropriate ID in order to receive free admission.

Wah Lum Kung Fu and Tai Chi of Knoxville is celebrating its 18th anniversary with a huge show at World's Fair Park Ampitheater. Schools from around the country will be here to perform at this event. Traditional lion and dragon dance, weaponry, forms and TN Children's Dance Ensemble will all be demonstrated. Tickets are $15 at the door, children get in for $12. Tanner taught at the University of Tennessee for 30 years, but in the 1930s he spent three years searching for and studying remnant populations of ivory-bills across the swamplands of the South. Join author Stephen Lyn Bales for this informative talk about his book Ghost Birds published by UT Press. This event will be held at the Frank H. McClung Museum on the University of Tennessee campus.
