Storms sweeping through East Tennessee left several homes damaged and debris in yards.

Residents along Vera Drive in North Knoxville were left with downed trees on roofs and power lines. A tree behind Debbie Pressley's home fell so hard, it punctured multiple holes in her ceiling.

"It started getting stronger, louder and apparently it was a tree cracking," she said, remembering the sound.

One branch now pokes through her granddaughters' bedroom, just above a bunk bed. Another fell through her bathroom shower ceiling, leaving a hole big enough to see the sky above.

"It's a mess. The asphalt from tiles on the roof are all in here, its crazy," she said.

Pressley has already contacted her insurance, and started making plans to remove the tree and clean up the mess.

For now, she expects her family may have to camp out in the living room.

"The whole ceiling's cracked," she said. "And it could fall on top of them. "It's laying against the house so really all the bedrooms are not safe. And the bathrooms are pretty much off limits."
