No water plus no power equals miserable day

"Nothing- not even a drizzle."

Jessie Crane's efforts to get her kitchen sink to produce anything but a soft hissing are futile.

"Not only do we not have power, we on this hill have wells. So if we don't have power, we don't have water," explained Crane.

She lives on a steep hill off Shiloh Road in Seymour and says she and her neighbors haven't had water or power since around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

"No shower, face washing, teeth brushing, hand washing," -- a little like indoor camping says Crane.

A few miles up Boyds Creek Highway Cathy Russell's home has water, but it also has an enormous white oak tree sitting just feet shy of her house.

"It looks like a jungle," said Russell, glancing across her yard.

Family helped her clear much of it up, and she says she's thankful since KUB likely won't touch the power lines until her oak is off of them.

KUB says they had 46 crews working to clean up the mess, each pulling 16 hour days.

They also pulled in six fresh line crews from Ohio Friday to aid in the efforts.

But Crane is a Seymour Electric System customer and as far as she knows she could be in for at least another day without power.

"My fiance's got to go to work and he can't go looking like he just got out of bed," said Crane.

The timeline has them contemplating a hotel.
