Two dead following single-vehicle accident in Knoxville

Knoxville Police have identified Joshua C. Hurst, 23, of Knoxville as the driver in a single-vehicle crash that happened Saturday morning in the 6000 block of Middlebrook Pike.  Hurst's passenger was Bailey. D. Booth, 17, also of Knoxville.

Previous Story

An early-morning single-vehicle crash in Knoxville has left two people dead.  Knoxville Police Officers responded to the accident in the 6000 block of Middlebrook Pike, near Weisgarber Rd., at 6:21 a.m.

According to KPD the 24-year old male driver and a 17-year old male passenger were both died at the scene.  Police are not releasing their identities until they notify the victims' next-of-kin.  They were the only two passengers in the vehicle.

A release from KPD said the 2000 Toyota Camry appeared to have been westbound when it left the road, entered the center median, and hit a tree. 

An investigation into the accident is on-going.
