Electric car charging stations at Victor Ashe Park.
The City of Knoxville is continuing its work to install two dozen charging stations for electric cars.
Two new stations are ready to use at Victor Ashe Park. It's one of 9 locations in the Knoxville area where the city plans to install charging stations.
The first station opened last summer, and there will be 24 in total.
The city hopes it will add convenience for drivers.
"We are really excited to have them in place and we hope this gives some sense of comfort. People interested in buying an electric vehicle they know now that there is infrastructure in place downtown and if you have an electric vehicle feel free to park at these garages and parks," said Jake Tisinger, Knoxville Sustainability Coordinator.
Crews are finishing stations at Ijams Nature Center, the Market Square and Civic Coliseum parking garages, and West Hills Park.
All 24 of the city installed charging stations will be free from now until the end of the year
