A fried chicken chain could soon be adding a new restaurant in West Knoxville.
Bojangles wants to build a new store at Middlebrook Pike and Weisgarber Road.
At Tuesday's city council meeting, council members voted to approve rezoning that piece of land from industrial to commercial.
The council's vote comes after a recommendation from the Metropolitan Planning Commission.
The rezoning must now pass a second reading before the restaurant's plans can move forward.
