The city of Sevierville is re-opening its search for a new fire chief.
One of the city's initial candidates was current Greeneville fire chief Mark Foulks. But, before the final interview process Foulks withdrew his name.
Sevierville then asked Foulks to assist in the administrative panel that would interview the finalists.
He agreed, and during that interview process, the city asked Foulks to reconsider his candidacy for the position. Foulks has now decided to re-enter his name.
Last month, Governor Haslam appointed Foulks to serve on the state's homeland security council.
He has served as Greeneville's fire chief since 2006.
