This week's rain should add some water to thirsty lakes in East Tennessee.

TVA is projecting that several lakes that have been a little below normal this summer will rise.

By next Thursday, TVA believes water runoff will add about a foot and a half to the level of Cherokee Lake. Douglas should see an increase of around 10 inches, and Norris should rise by about five inches.

All three lakes have been below their ideal level, though TVA is quick to point out they are still higher than winter elevations.
