Teen that crashed car after shooting has been identified

Knoxville Police have identified a man who was injured when he crashed his car after it was shot at.

Trammel Harris, 18, of Knoxville, was taken to UT Medical Center after he ran into a pole.

Investigators are still working to determine who fired the shots into Harris' car.

A man is in the hospital after police say he crashed his car after a shooting.

Initial reports said the man was shot in the leg, but police say that was not the case.

The car, a 2010 Kia Sephia, had bullet holes in it and the glass was shot out, said police.

Witnesses say there were several other people in the car, but they fled after the crash.

 

It happened just before 7 o'clock at the intersection of Castle and Sheilds in East Knoxville.

Investigators are still looking for the shooter.

They believe the suspect took off running on foot.
