Dozens of volunteers spent Tuesday morning packing backpacks full of goodies for kids who go to rural schools.
Mission of Hope volunteers packed backpacks and created toiletry kits for kids in 27 rural schools.
In total, 10,500 students will receive the free supplies.
The items will be delivered in early August.
"We're blessed," said Executive Director, Emmette Thompson, "Every day this week we have between 45 and 50 volunteers coming to help us get 27 different schools ready for an incredible time of starting the school year on a good foot here in upcoming weeks."
You can help donate by dropping off school supplies at bins found at dozens of Food City grocery stores across East Tennessee.
Also, Mission of Hope needs volunteers and financial contributions to keep going.
