At least two West Tennessee chapters of the Tennessee Republican Party are condemning Haslam for hiring gay people, Democrats, and a Muslim-American.

Regardless, the governor says he feels ok about his job performance. He says a recent poll says 80 percent of conservative Republicans approve of the job he's doing.

"My job as governor is to focus on bringing jobs to Tennessee, making sure we have a great education system, and making certain we're providing great value, and that's the kind of thing I think most Tennesseans want me to focus on," said Haslam.

The GOP chapters have not specified what should happen to Haslam. They're just saying that in their eyes, he's broken their conservative values.
