More and more people keep coming to the county's most visited national park.
1,202,056 people visited the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in June 2012. That's a 7.2% increase over the same month last year.
Those numbers continue the trend of 2012, with increased visitation every month of the year so far. Overall, 410,000 more people, or 11.5% more, have made a trip to the Smokies in the first six months of this year than last year.
Park officials say June marks the beginning of summer, school breaks, and the start to the popular summer season in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
