A pair of basset hounds have quite a story to tell, if only they could talk.

After being found wandering in Georgia, they've been reunited with their owners in Kansas more than five years after they were stolen from their owners' home when they lived in Tennessee.

Workers found Allie and Bama's owners after they showed up at a Georgia animal shelter because the dogs had microchips.

So, they called the three numbers listed, and found the dogs' owners, Brenda Travis and Tom Shields.

Brenda says she couldn't believe it.

"There was a long pause and a lot of tears."

After many years and many miles apart, volunteers with a basset rescue made the reunion possible.
