The grandmother of two Bradley County boys who died last month after overheating is talking after a jury indicted the boys' mother on murder charges.
"I can tell you we were angry; I was angry," said Linda Bates.
Bates says she suspected something after the deaths of her grandsons, 5-year-old Leland and 3-year-old River.
On Wednesday, a grand jury indicted the boys' mother, Natasha Moses, on murder, child abuse and drug-related charges.
Moses initially reported a drowning and said the boys were outside for 45 minutes playing on a Slip N' Slide.
"Anybody that looked at that, that thought about it, that had common sense knew that wasn't true, but I had no idea how bad the truth would be," said Bates.
Investigators now say they believe Leland and River were left alone in a hot car and died from hyperthermia.
They returned to Moses' home on Friday and searched it after reports of drug activity there.
Moses is being held in the Bradley County jail without bond.
