Thousands of people will receive free medical, dental and vision care this weekend, thanks to Knoxville-based Remote Area Medical.
RAM is holding a clinic in Wise County, Virginia.
An estimated 1,500 volunteers are helping with the efforts at the Wise County Fairgrounds.
One volunteer from North Carolina told WCYB-TV that she has been coming to the annual RAM clinic for several years with her father.
Some of the volunteers are dental students from Virginia Commonwealth University who came to lend a helping ahdn and gain valuable training for their careers.
RAM organizers hope the students will volunteer once again as dentists at future events.
The medical clinic in Wise County is expected to be one of RAM's largest. It runs through Sunday.
