As we head into more weeks of hot weather, the Knox County Sheriff's Office is getting two free high-tech devices designed to keep officers and their dogs safe.

Earlier this year, we told you about Michael Robinson's invention. It's called the HeatSeeker.

It's a type of misting cap designed to help cool off first responders whose body temperatures can skyrocket underneath their heavy protective gear.

Robinson is a Rural/Metro firefighter, and he's now donated two HeatSeekers to the county sheriff's office.

One will go inside the K-9 kennel to help police dogs. The other will go to the deputy training academy.
